The United Arab Emirates is a nation on the Arabian Peninsula located predominantly along the Persian Gulf. The country is a federation of several Emirates, made up of seven autonomous monarchies: Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Ash Shariqah, Dubai, Al-Fujayrah, Ra's al-Khaymah and Umm al-Qaywayn.

Abu Dhabi, the capital, is home to the great Sheikh Zayed Mosque, with space for 40,000 worshippers, among other international attractions.
