From there, you can travel to islands with pristine sandy beaches and turquoise blue waters, to still-active volcanoes, vast sugar cane fields and huge tobacco plantations; the rice terraces of Banaue built 2,000 years ago by the Ifugao tribe or Vigan, a city with a curious Hispano-Mexican atmosphere listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
