"Pura Vida" is the official Costa Rican greeting, used in a variety of situations and can mean something like "hello", "all right", "welcome", something positive.... And there couldn't be a more appropriate term to define the Costa Rican way of life. So, when you start your trip to Costa Rica, put a smile on your face and Pura Vida!

The title of "Switzerland of Central America" is due to its green, mountainous environment, but also to its peace, civic-mindedness and the absence of an army, and for being one of the nations with the happiest citizens in the world. More than 99 per cent of its energy comes from renewable sources and it contains 5 per cent of the world's biodiversity.

Located between the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean, Costa Rica, which emerged from the depths of the Pacific 3 million years ago, never ceases to amaze us and reveal its fantastic natural riches and biodiversity; teeming with wildlife species such as spider monkeys and quetzal birds; Caribbean beaches, the dark sand of Tortuguero, where giant turtles have been laying their eggs for millennia; tropical forests of the central valley; multiple volcanoes including the still active Arenal, immense rivers... All magnificently preserved, around a quarter of the territory is occupied by protected forest. Not forgetting the wild beaches of the Pacific and the interior populated by welcoming people, fishermen, farmers and artisans, from the Panamanian border to that of Nicaragua.
