A city-state and small island, located at the end of the Malay Peninsula, it is one of the world's main economic centers. In addition to the main island, Singapore's territory is made up of 62 other small islands - most of them uninhabited. Singapore, the Lion City - often held up as an example of its extraordinary economic success - has the highest concentration of millionaires in the world (around 17% of the population). Modernity, technology, strict rules and concern for the environment constantly put Singapore on the list of most desirable destinations. The country is also among the least corrupt and safest in the world.

Its colonial center revolves around the Padang, a cricket ground from the 1830s that today is flanked by large buildings such as City Hall. In Chinatown, which sprang up around 1820, is the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, in red and gold, which supposedly houses one of Buddha's teeth.

A veritable compendium of Asian cultures, its extraordinary multi-ethnic atmosphere is expressed in the different districts of Chinatown, Little India and even the colonial district. An undisputed shopping paradise, Singapore offers many entertainment possibilities and its gastronomy is considered one of the best in Asia.
